Creator's creators

Updated: Jan 27, 2020

As the waters fill the sea, the earth will be filled with an awareness of the glory of God.

~Habakkuk 2:14 (The New Living Translation)

God's heart-dream from the beginning has been to fill the earth with His glory.

"The glory of God is man fully alive."

~Irenaeus of Lyons

We are His greatness.

The darling of the nations has received his inheritance called the people's of the earth.

Ask of Me, and I will give You

The nations for Your inheritance, And the ends of the earth for Your possession.

(Psalm 2:8 NKJV)

It was the Father's pleasure to give his Son such an inheritance as us... the crowning jewel of His creation...the very creatures He fashioned to be like Himself (not dirt and boundaries and buildings...living beings who choose their own ways).

Multiply...be fruitful..fill the earth...His commands.

Jesus came to liberate us into our true selves...to draw us from the shadows of shame and guilt...to reintroduce us to ourselves...our glorious selves.

The glorious self creates in freedom. It does not create in dark perversion or wicked ambition.

Our unique creativity is our highest act of worship, for when we create we not only evidence our purpose, but our origin.

Lie: "I am not creative."

To deny your creativity is to deny your Creator.

All children create. Whether with paste or sand or crayon or cardboard. All children create.

I tell you the truth", unless you change and become like little children, you will never enter the kingdom of God.

~Jesus (Matthew 18:3 The Voice Translation)

It is the creative element that Christ has been sent to help us recover, for it is in our creative acts that we have union with God. To emulate the Father is to commune with Him.

All may not be "artists" per say, however, all create. We create with our words, with our thoughts, with our dreams and smiles. We create with our labor, with or relationships and especially with our fun. Recreation after all, means to re-create.

Created to create with the Creator.

Our enemy wishes to keep us from believing that we are like our Source. He clothes us with counterfeit realities, and burdens us with busyness and heavy loads...yokes of responsibility that we were never commissioned to carry. He cast shadows of shame and points fingers of condemnation so that we will not dance like children anymore. For he too knows that our creativity bears an image.

Imago Dei.

The earth has been filled. Billions and Billions of image carriers, despite the ever increasing assault on life. The dream of God has come true...in part.

He waits for us to glorify it. To become alive. To create once again.
